Templates
First and foremost, do NOT confuse our 'template' with design templates that you can purchase from places like templatemonster.com. That is NOT what we are talking about.
Our "Templates" are custom designed pages that are used to create the pages on your site. We take a CUSTOM design that we create for you, program the module types into that design and upload the page into the CMS. This page is now ready to make other pages, therefore it is called a template. A template only because it is used by the CMS to create the pages and keep the custom design applied to every page on your website.
Do I have to have one design or can I use several different designs?
You can have as many templates for your site as you'd like. You may have different sections or categories for your site and would like each category or section to differ from each other in slight ways. The Craven County Government website is a perfect example. With so many different departments, it was desirable for each department to update their own section of the website. If you browse through their site, you'll see the same custom design, modified slightly for the different departmental sections on their site. It was their desire to have 'parchment' as Craven County is very much a historical county. New Bern, NC is the county seat, home of Tryon Palace, once our state's capitol. "Perservation and Innovation" was the desired theme and parchment paper captured their desire to demostrate the historical aspect of their county. This site has custom design. Their 'templates' are the custom design with the CMS modules inserted in them to create a complete online solution for their county website. Visit their site and explore. Each of the different departments in the Craven County government, edit their own section of the site and submit their changes to their immediate supervisor for publishing.
